The Tight Hip Blues

(and How Pilates can save your Downward Dog)

Anyone else ever feel like their hips are glued together? Sitting all day, endless scrolling (guilty!), even that extra scoop of not doing any movement because life (hey, it happens!) can leave our hips feeling tight and achy.

This used to be my story and so many of my ladies that are regulars in my class. I noticed a huge trend where the ladies would feel creaky and stiff and it impacted all other areas, like their downward dog in yoga class which was more like a downward slump. Then through Pilates and my hip opening series boom! What a change.

Pilates is like magic for your hips. It stretches, strengthens, and mobilizes them – all while keeping your core engaged. Suddenly, their downward dog was a thing of beauty (okay, maybe not that dramatic, but a definite improvement!).
