Why you can’t live without releasing your hips

Ok, ok I know you’re going to think this is being a bit dramatic but let me tell you all the things that can happen when you don’t release your hips!

Let’s talk about the most obvious ones first and then I’m going to go into some of the things that aren’t so obvious.

1) Posture. Your hips are the crux of your spine and therefor posture. Tight hips will affect the way you walk, the way you sleep the way you feel.

2) Back pain. Hips are, in my opinion, the main reason why so many people get back pain and it’s an easily solvable thing if you work on it consistently.

3) Sleep. Hip release can really affect your sleep. Have you ever had a massage and then had the best nights sleep? Yes well it’s because you’ve gotten a little release of the hips and therefor are looser.

Ok, let’s talk about some of the lesser obvious things:

1) Regulate your emotions. As females we hold our emotional tension in our hips. If you think about it it kinda makes sense - are you more or less emotional when you’re on your period?

2) Confidence. This is a little bit of a chain reaction - so releasing your hips, releases your spine and improves your posture which is going to make you feel better, allow you to stand a little taller and make you feel better.
