mince pies are one of my favourite christmas things...i love them! the sweet weird taste of the filling, the flaky soft pastry, the brandy butter. i mean, what is not to like? they are so simple to a make that why wouldn't you?? use a simple shortcrust pastry and adapt a store bought jar or two of mince meat with extra brandy, orange + lemon zest and some chopped almonds. winner!
